Patna : With their two superstar batsmen Captain Virat Kohli and A B de Villiers getting out for 8 and 1 runs respectively, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could score only 127/9 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 35th match of IPL this season at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, on May 5, 2018, riding on a 41 ball 53 with 5 fours and 2 sixes by opener Parthiv Patel.

Fast bowler Tim Southee, New Zealand, made an unbeaten 36 in 26 ball hitting 3 fours and a six while Colin de Grandhomme, New Zealand, made 7. RCB opener Brendon McCullum was out for 5 while Mandeep Singh made 8. CSK had won the oss but opted to bowl.

For CSK, spinner Ravindra Jadeja took 3/18 in 4 overs including the wicket of Kohli while veteran off spinner Harbhanjan Singh took 2/22 in 4 overs including the wicket of de Villiers. Fast bowlers Lungisani Ngidi, South Africa,  and David Willey, England, took one wicket each. Two RCB batsmen : Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj, both fast bowlers, were run out.
