RCB beats KXIP by 17 runs in 42nd match of IPL-12

Patna : Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 17 runs  in the 42nd match of IPL-12 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on April 24, 2019, late night, due to excellent spell of  bowling in death overs by its fast bowlers Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini. Umesh Yadav took 3/36 in 4 overs while Saini took 2/33 in 4 overs. It was RCB’s 4th victory in 11 matches and now they have 8 points while KXIP have 10 points from 11 matches.

Replying to RCB’s 202/4 in 20 overs, KXIP could score only 185/7 in 20 overs with opener Lokesh Rahul scoring 42 in 27 balls hitting 7 fours and a six and Nicolas Pooran ( wk), 23, scoring 46 in 28 balls hitting a for and 5 sixes. Pooran hit RCB spinner Washington Sunder for 3 sixes in one over. Chris Gayle made 23 in 10 balls hitting 4 fours and a six while Mayank Agarwal made 35 in 21 balls with 5 fours a six. David Miller scored 24 with 2 fours. KXIP captain Captain  Ravichandran Ashwin scored 6.

Earlier, batting first RCB had scored 202/4 in 20 overs with A B de Villiers scoring an unbeaten 82 in 44 balls hitting 3 fours and 7 sixes while Marcus Stoinis scored an unbeaten 46 in 34 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Virat Kohli scored 13 runs while Moeen Ali Made 4.
