Patna : DIG, Central Range, Rajesh Kumar, on July 11, 2018, appointed Ravi Ranjana, SI, Kotwali Police Station, Patna, as the new SHO of Mahila Police Station, Patna, on the basis of a written test and interview held the same day. She succeeds Vibha Kumari, who was suspended on July 10, 2018, for not taking prompt action in the case of rape of a five year old girl on July 8.
Altogether 27 female SIs posted in Patna appeared in the written test and interview held on July 11 to select the new SHO of Mahila Police Station, Patna. Ravi Ranjana stood first in the test comprising 5 objective and 5 descriptive questions of 50 marks. The interview also carried 50 marks. The written test and interview was conducted by City SP (East), City SP ( West), City SP (Central) and Rural SP, Patna, who prepared a panel of three candidates for the selection of the new SHO, Mahila Police Station, and submitted it to DIG, Central Range.
SI, Archana Kumari Sinha, Gandhi Maidan police station, Patna, stood second in the test while SI Upasna secured third position. Both of them have been given a cash reward of Rs 5,000 each. Selection of SHOs of other police stations in the Central Range may be made on the basis of similar test in future.
