Chhapra ( Saran) : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on April 22, 2018, appreciated the efforts of Nitish Kumar government in tackling Naxalism in Bihar. The Union Home Minister said the number of naxal violence in the state has come down to less than half since 2013. I would like to thank Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Sushil Modi and police and para military forces for this, Rajnath said on the occasion of inauguration of ITBP’s 6th battalion’s buildings here.

Rajnath said that the number of death in naxal violence come down to one third of what it used to be in the past in Bihar as the confidence of naxalites has been shattered.The Home Minister also urged the poor across the country to be on guard against the Naxals’ design to win their sympathies. The leaders of naxal organisations want them to remain poor whereas their own children study in prominent colleges and universities and some of them even study abroad, Rajnath said adding the several naxalites leaders have amassed huge cash.

The Union Home Minister said that Bihar’s growth rate has increased during the NDA regimer and it has registered a growth rate of 10.3 % which has happened for the first time whereas the national growth stands at 7.3 %.

He also termed as historic Nitish government’s decision to enforce complete prohibition in the state in April 2016 and said the crime rate has gone down in Bihar after the enforcement of prohibition.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, and BJP MPs Janardan Singh Sigriwal and Rajiv Pratap Rudy were prominent among those present on the occasion.
