Munger: Laying of by-lane tracks between Daulatpur colony and Bari Ashikpur village under Jamalpur block in Munger ditrict is likely to be delayed by more than a month due to rain, an official of the Eastern railway told newsmen at Jamalpur. Work is yet to be start in a stretch of around 200 metres.
The work of laying rail tracks on the by-lane to join the main loopline tracks near the tunnel before Bari Ashikpur was to be completed by June 30 but it could not be done and deadline was extended by fifteen days. The construction agency ,however, failed to set the project target. Now due to this delay, running of Mail and Express trains via Munger railway station without touching Jamalpur station from Bhagalpur side may resume from mid August or September, 2016. The railways is taking keen interest to complete the work to reduce traffic pressure on the main line between Kiul and Patna Junction.
