Buxar : After Patna and Ara on January 24, 2022, Railway job aspirants squatted on rail tracks at Buxar railway station under Danapur  Division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, Bihar, on January 25, 2022, to protest alleged erroneous results of Railway Recruitment Board’s Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) examination. Running of trains remained paralyzed on UP and Down lines since morning. They were demanding withdrawal of results immediately.

A large number of youth created ruckus at Buxar railway station as a result several trains stranded at different railway stations. GRP, RPF, and police teams tried to pacify the protesters but in vain till time of filling of this report. Passengers particularly women and children were a harried lot.

RRB had published examination communiqué in 2019 for appointment of 35,000 persons and the RRB has conducted NTPC examination from December 28, 2020, to July 31, 2021, at  seven phases for CBT 1 and published results on January 14, 2022.The aspirants clearing the exam will appear in the RRB NTPC CBT 2 examination scheduled to be held in two phases from February 14, 2022, to February 18, 2022.

After publication of CBT 1 results on January 14, 2022, thousands of students expressed their anger on social media alleging that the results were erroneous .They said the railway did not publish the result as promised earlier.

The protesters alleged the government did not publish results as per the advertisement.They also alleged one student was selected for several regional boards examinations. They also mentioned about several errors in preparation of scoreboard and cut-off. They said that the railway had not announced to conduct the examination in two parts in the advertisement for group D examination.

Railways Ministry said that 20 times more aspirants were selected against the published vacancies and added that over 7 lakh aspirants were selected against 35,000 vacant posts which is 20 times of the published vacancies for the CBT 2 examination. It further said that one aspirant could be selected on merit basis at several levels. The ministry said that the cut off was prepared under result normaliszation process which depended total vacancy.
