Ara : Bhojpur District Administration conducted raid at Ara jail on August 11, 2018, and seized three cell phones, 4 chargers and utensils in large number from the possession of inmates. After the photographs of Ara jail went viral on social media recently, Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar, SP Awakash Kumar, SDO Arun Prakash along with heavy police force reached Ara jail on August 11 afternoon and carried out search operation in every ward of the jail.
Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar said that seizure of utensils used in cooking along with cellphones and chargers was surprising and explanation has been sought from the officials of jail administration as to how these articles reached the jail and why the inmates are using separate utensils for cooking when they were served food.
Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that action would be taken against the inmates of the jail as well as police personnel deployed at the jail. He said that recovery of cellphones and chargers from the inmates of Ara jail proved that the inmates are hand in glove with police personnel deputed at the jail and playing criminal game from inside the jail. He said that an inquiry is being conducted and stern action would be taken against police personnel if they are found conniving with the inmates.
