Sitamarhi: All the private hospitals, clinics and nursing homes in Sitamarhi district closed for an indefinite period on July 26, 2017, at the call of local unit of Indian Medical Association (IMA) in
protest against attack on Dr Narendra Kumar Sinha and vandalism inside his clinic by a someĀ  rowdy elements on July 25 in hospital road locality. The injured doctor and his staff were admitted
Sadar hospital, Sitamarhi.

The members of IMA, Sitamarhi Chapter, are demanding protection and swift action against the rowdy elements. An IMA delegation has submitted memorandum to Sitamarhi DM Rajiv
Raushan and SP Hari Prasath S in this connection. The emergency patients suffered the most due the doctors’ strike. All the medicine shops will also remain closed on July 27 in support of IMA.
Meanwhile, police conducted raids at a few places and detained nine persons in connection with July 25 incident.
