Saharsa : Union Minister of state for Rural Development and BJP MP from Patliputra parliamentary constituency Ram Kripal Yadav on June 2, 2017, said that prohibition enforced by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in April 2016  had completely failed in the state as liquor was now being supplied at the doorstep of the boozers.

” Before prohibition, there was counter delivery now it is home delivery of liquor. Bihar is the only state where rats drink liquor,” said Ram Kripal while talking to mediapersons at Saharsa railway station. The Union Minister alleged that about half-a-dozen members of Nitish cabinet were violating the prohibition but the chief minister was not taking any action against them only poor were being targeted by police. Police should also search the residences of ministers where they can seize costly liquor bottles, the BJP leader said. The Union Minister, however, said that the BJP favours prohibition.

Talking about the poor results at the Intermediate Exams 2017 conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) in which around 8 lakh students had failed, the Union Minister said that the results have exposed quality of education in the government schools. The state government should hold an all party meeting to discuss ways of improving standard of education in schools, he said. He said if there has been irregularities in publishing the results of Inter Arts exam, it should be definitely inquired into. Saharsa district BJP president Niraj Gupta and former BJP legislator Sanjiv Jha were also present on the occasion.
