Muzaffarpur:  The  International Yoga day was celebrated  in  all the districts  of Tirhut division  on Tuesday with
thousands of men, womem and children participating in the programmes. Union minister  Ram Kripal Yadav attended a programme at Muzaffarpur Zila School ground.

Yadav said large number of people had assembled at the ground though the state government  officials skipped the programme  as the Bihar government has distanced itself with it due to political reasons. Yoga day was
celebrated in almost all block headquarters in Muzaffarpur district.

Over  10,000  people participated at Yoga shivir  at different  towns, market and  villages  in East Champaran district.  A big Yoga shivir was organized at Motihari Gandhi maidan by CRPF, SSB , Champaran Press club, Yoga Mitra Mandal  in which hundreds of para military jawans and common people. This function was inaugurated by CRPF commandant Karma Bhutia  and addressed by Prof  Shobha Kant Chaudhary  of Yog Mitra Mandal. Gyaneshwar Gautam and Rakesh Kumar, who were associated with the programme, said it spread awareness among the people about benefits of Yoga.

In West Champaran district,  24 yoga camps were organized  on the day  mostly in rural areas. The main programme  was organized at MJK Collge ground at Bettiah in which BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal parcipated with other leaders. At  Sitamarhi, five camps were organized in the town by different organizations  in which large numbers of people participated.

According to report 31 social organizations  including Patanjali , Pranayam, Himalaya Yog, Vyas Yog sansthan and  Super soul  organized yoga shivir in Himalayan valley and tarai area  in Nepal to mark the International Yoga Day.
