Prisoner escapes from Ara Sadar Hospital

Ara : An inmate of Ara jail, Sanjay Yadav, son of Bhagwan Yadav of Jagdishpur under the same police station in Bhojpur district escaped from the police custody at Ara Sadar Hospital on June 19, 2017, night when he was brought over from the jail on June 14 for treatment. An FIR has been lodged with Town police station, Ara, in this connection. He was in jail for the last eight months in a murder case.

Sanjay Yadav had complained of pain in his chest and was admitted to the jail hospital but the doctor referred him to Ara Sadar Hospital on June 14, 2017, where he was kept in prisoners’ ward. On June 19 night, the security personnel had removed his manacles to enable him take food but Sanjay Yadav hoodwinked the security personnel  and escaped from there.

Jail Superintendent Niranjan Pandit said that Sanjay Yadav was in jail for the last eight months in a murder case and was sent to Ara Sadar Hospital for treatment after the order of the court and under the security cover of the security personnel requisitioned for the purpose. He said action will be taken against the security personnel for dereliction of duty.
