Presence of 2 RLSP MLAs at BJP meet creates ripples

Patna : The presence two MLAs of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) at the BJP legislature party meeting here on November 26, 2018, night, created ripples in the political circles as it suggested cracks in the party. Sources in the BJP said that their presence at the BJP meet was a snub to RLSP Chief and Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha.

One of the two RLSP MLAs Sudhansu Shekhar had recently visited Janata Dal (United) president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar at hiss residence. RLSP boss Upendra Kushwaha has accused Nitish of trying to poach his MLAs. Incidentally, the RLSP has only two MLAs in Bihar Assembly.

On November 26 morning, Shekhar told mediapersons outside assembly premises, “I had met CM Nitish Kumar and there is nothing wrong with that. Legislators from all parties meet the chief minister to discuss problems relating to their respective constituencies .” Replying to a query, Shekhar said that he was going to stay in the NDA. The other RLSP MLA Lalan Paswan is  highly critical of Kushwaha.
The RLSP MP from Sitamarhi Ram Kumar Sharma had recently said that he was in favour of the RLSP remaining in the NDA. The RLSP, an NDA constituent in Bihar, had won three seats in 2018 Lok Sabha polls.
