Patna : New Zealand were all out for only 90 runs in 35.3 overs in their first innings in the second test against Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on day 3 of the match with spinner Yasir Shah taking 8/41 in 12.3 overs.
Resuming at their overnight score of 24/0, New Zealand lost their first wicket at 50 when opener Jeet Raval fell to Yasir Shah for 31. His opening partner Tom Latham also fell to Shah for 22 when the score was 61 and thereafter the Pakistan spinner was all over the New Zealand batsmen. Captain Kane Williamson remained unbeaten on 28 while Ross Taylor was out for a duck.
Asked to follow on, New Zealand were 131/2 in their second innings at stumps on day 3 with Ross Taylor batting on 49 in 53 balls with 6 fours and a six and opener Tom Latham batting on 44 in 141 balls with 3 fours adding 65 runs for the third wicket. Captain Kane Williamson fell to Yasir Shah for 30 while Jeet Raval fell to the same bowler for just 2.
Yasir took 2/65 in 15 overs increasing his tally to 10 wickets on the day. New Zealand, who won the first test by 4 runs, trail by 197 runs. New Zealand had declared their first innings at 418/5 on day two.
