Patna : Second seed and World Number 11 H S Pranoy, 25,  stunned Word Numbr 2 and top seed Kidambi Srikanth 21-15, 16-21, 21-7 in 49 minutes to emerge Senior National Badminton champion at Nagpur on November 8, 2017. Pranoy, who hails from Thiruvananthpuram, Kerala, had lost to Srikanth, 24, in the semi-final of French Open Series in Paris recently. Obviously, Srikanth from Guntur in AndhraPradesh, had started as favourite as he has won four Supr Series titles in 2017. Srikanth is now 3-2 head to head against Pranoy now.

World Number 11 and second seed Saina Nehwal, 27,  beat World Number 2 and top seed P V Sindhu, 22,  21-17, 27-25 in the final to win the women’s singles title in National Badminton Championship at Nagpur on November 8. It wasSaina’s third national title.
