Patna : World No 26 H S Prannoy and World No 33 Sameer Verma, both India, entered the 2nd round of Perodua Malaysia Masters, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 event, at Kualalumpur, Malasia, on January 8, 2020.

H S Prannoy, India,  upset World No 10 Kanta Tsuneyama, 23, Japan, in straight games 21-9, 21-17 in only 34 minutes in first round. Prannoy won 42 rallies in the match to 26 by Tsuneyama. He won 5 consecutive points to 3 by Tsuneyama. Prannoy now leads Tsuneyama 2-1 Head to Head.

Sameer Verma, India, upset World No 13 Kantaphon Wangcharoen, 21, Thailand, in straight games 21-16, 21-15 in 47 minutes. Sameer won 42 rallies in the match to 31 by Wangcharoen. Both the players won 5 consecutive points each during the match. Sameer now leads Wangcharoen 3-1 Head to Head.
