Patna : World No 19 B Sai Praneeth, India, lost to World No 16 and 7th seed Kanta Tsuneyama, Japan, in straight games in the quarter-finals of Toyota Thailand Open on August 2, 2019. Tsuneyama beat Praneeth, who had reached semi-finals of Japan Open last week, 21-18, 21-12 in 35 minutes at Indoor Stadium Huamark, Bangkok, Thailand.

Tsuneyama won 42 rallies in the match to 30 by the Indian. He also won 6 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Praneeth. The two players are now locked 1-1 Head to Head.

World No 17 Lee Zii Jia, 21, Malaysia, also entered the semi-finals defeating World No 34 Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, 25, Indonesia, 11-21, 21-14, 21-13 in 50 minutes in the quarter-finals on August2. Lee won 53 rallies in the match to 48 by the Indonesian. The two players are now  locked 2-2 Head to Head.
