Motihari : Kidnapping of a four year old boy Preetam of a flood affected family of village Bhelwa under Maduban police station in East Champaran district in North Bihar on July 22, 2019, night, when he was sleeping with his grand-father Jaldhari Sahni on roadside at their village and failure of police to locate him even after lapse of 11 days has triggered panic among the people in flood affected areas of the district.

The residents of Bhelwa are up in arms against the district administration and had blocked the Motihari – Madhuban road on July 30, 2019, demanding immediate recovery Preetm, who was sleeping on the roadside with his grad-father as flood water had entered their house besides inundating the entire village.

Jaldhari Sahni  has lodged an FIR with Madhuban police station stating that since the water of river Bagmati had entered his house and inundated the entire village, he was sleeping  on the roadside with his 4 year old grand-son Preetam on a  mat on July 22, 2019, night, but found the child missing in the late night. He raised an alarm and  called his son, daughter- in-law, wife and others who searched him but failed to locate him. SHO, Madhuban police station, Amit Kumar, said that search is on to recover the boy. Police suspect that  some persons  having enmity with Jaldhari Sahni mighthave kidnapped the boy.

Meanwhile, it is double whammy for Jaldhari and his family members devastated by both flood and kidnapping of Preetam.
