Patna : World No 12 B Sai Praneeth, 27, India, entered the second round of Danisa Denmark Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour 750 Tournament, at Odense, Denmark, on October 15, 2019, defeating two-time former Olympic Champion and five-time World Champion Lin Dan, 36, China, in straight games in first round.
Praneeth beat World No 18 Lin Dan also known as Super Dan 21-14, 21-17 in 36 minutes at Odense Sportspark, Denmark. The India won 42 rallies in the match to 31 by Dan, who has also won All England Open Championships 6 times. He had won Olympic Gold Medal in 2008 & 2012 and Asian Games Gold Medal in2010 and 2014. Dan still leads Praneeth 2-1 Head to Head.
But, World No 25 Parupalli Kashyap, 33, India, lost to World No 27 Sitthikom Thammasin, Thailand, in straight games in first round. Thammasin beat Kashyap 21-13, 21-12 in 38 minutes. The Thai won 42 rallies in the match to 25 by the Indian. Thammasin leads Kashyap 2-0 Head to Head.
