Prajnesh, Mukund enter 2nd round of ATP Kaohsiung Challenger in Taiwan

Patna : India No 1 and 2nd seed :Prajneshwar Gunneswaran, 29, and World No 239 Sasi Kumar Mukund, 22, India, entered the second round of ATP Kaohsiung Challenger in Taiwan on September 17, 2019.

The tournament is played on hard courts and the winner of singles title will get 125 points. World No 12 Gael Monfils, 32, France, had won the singles title here in 2018.  

World No 82 Prajnesh, who had reached the semi-finals of ATP Shanghai Challenger last week, beat World No 286 Sheuichi Sekiguchi, 28, Japan,  6-3, 6-2 in 1st round at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Mukund beat World No 253 Goncalo Oliveira, 24, Portugal,  in a three-set thriller 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 in 1st round.  World No 12 Gael Monfils, 32, France, had won the singles title here in 2018.
