Patna : World No 110 in ATP rankings and India’s No 1 tennis player Prajnesh Gunnewswaran, 29, reached the quarter-finals of KPIT-MSLTA Challenger at Pune, Maharashtra, on November 21, 2018, defeating World No 794 Lucas Gerch, 23, Germany, in the second round. The winner of ATP Challenger Bangalore last week, Prajnesh Gunneswaran easily beat Lucas Gerch 6-1, 6-3 in the second round.

Prajnesh will play World No 186 Aleksandr Nedovyesov, 31, Kazakhstan, in the quarter-finals on November 22. Nedovyesov beat World No 613 Ben Patael, 21, Isreal, 7-5, 6-4 in the second round.

World No 355 Sasi Kumar Mukund, 21, India, will play World No 102 and top seed Radu Albot, 29, Modova, in the quarter-finals. Albot beat World No 264 Maverick Banes, 26, Australia, 6-3, 6-1 in the second round on November 21.

But, World No 370 Arjun Kadhe, 24, India, who had upset World No 130 Ramkumar Ramnathan, 24, in the first round on November 20, 2018, lost to World No 189 Brayden Schnur, 23, Canada, 5-7, 2-6 in the second round on November 21.
