Motihari : Petroleum and Natural Gas minister minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday sought state government’s co-operation for laying natural gas pipeline in Bihar.  He said,” If we get assistance, gas pipeline will be laid in Motihari as it has already reached Gorakhpur in Utter Pradesh.”
Pradhan announced that Motihari will have a bottling plant of LPG gas soon for which Centre is going to spend Rs 1,000 crore. The pipeline of LPG will be extended later up to Raxaul on Indo-Nepal border. Pradhan, who was here to launch  LPG scheme under Pradhan Mantri Ujjala Yojna, said that this scheme is working in state since June 27 and so
far one lakh gas cylinders had been distributed among housewives.
Pradhan said that once PM Narendra Modi had told him that the mothers in country were suffering due to smoke in
their kitchens and that as the reason why this schemes has been launched to save the lives of women in the country.
The union minister said that according to a survey five lakh women die every year due to constant inhaling of smoke. One hour inhaling of smoke is equal to 400 cigarette, Pradhan said. He also recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution in the country’s independence and hailed the soil of Champaran which was chosen by Gandhi to start his satyagrah.
Union agriculture minister Radha mohan singh said that the PM had said in his speech that this is a government of poor and farmers. During the short tenure of the BJP government 24 crore families had become economically
strong benefitting from various pro- poor schemes of government. Bank accounts of 22 crores families had been opened.He said 1.6 crore fake ration cards had been detected in Bihar.
