Patna : The three-day practice match between India and New Zealand (NZ)  ended in a draw on Day 3 on February 16, 2020, at Seddon Park, Hamilton, NZ, with India scoring 252/4 in 48 overs in their second innings. NZ had scored 235 in their first innings on Day 2 while India were all out for 263 in their first innings with Hanuma Vihari scoring 101 and Cheteswar Pujara scoring 93 runs. India had won the toss and opted to bat.

Resuming at their overnight score of 59/0, India lost their first wicket that of opener Prithvi Shaw at 72. Shaw fell to captain Daryl Mitchell for 39 in 31 balls with 6 fours and a six. Shubhman Gill also fell to Daryl Mitchell for 7 making it 82/2. Opener Mayank Agarwal retired out for 81 in 99 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Rishabh Pant too fell to Dayl Mitchell for 70 in 65 balls hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. Wriddhiman Saha remained unbeaten on 30 in 38 balls with 5 fours while Ravichandra Ashwin remained 16 not out with 2 fours. Daryl Mitchell took 3/33 in 9 overs.
