Police team attacked at Bagaha village

Bagaha : A police team led by Incharge, Pathakauli Police Outpost in Bagaha police district, Dharmbir Kumar Bharati, was attacked by the villagers carrying sticks at village Garkatti under Jamunapur Tarawalia  panchayat on February 24, 2019, late evening, after they arrested 12 persons and seized huge volume of illicit liquor and was getting ready to bring them to the police outpost.

A large number of villagers carrying sticks surrounded the cops and started pelting them with stones. Six police personnel were injured in stone pelting by the villagers, who also damaged the police vehicle. Realising that the situation was getting out of control, the police team made a hasty retreat from there leaving the seized illicit liquor and arrested persons behind.

Incharge, Pathakauli Police Out post, Dharmbir Kumar Bharati said that all the illicit liquor producers had been identified and would be arrested the earliest. Police, on a tip off, had conducted raids at village Garkatti and seized illicit liquor and arrested 12 persons in this connection.
