Police take into custody 3 persons for Cough Syrup abuse at Saharsa

Saharsa : A police team headed by SDPO,  Saharsa, O P Tiwary, took into custody three persons at Tiwary Tola Chowk, Saharsa, for alleged Cough Syrup  and drug abuse. The police team also comprising SHO, Sadar police station, R K Singh, was enforcing lockdown announced by Bihar Government on March 22, 2020, when it noticed crowd at Aamna Medical.

Seeing police, the medical store owner and those the people who had gathered at the medical store tried to escape. Police seized a bottle of Cough Syrrup from the possession of a youth after which SDPO Tiwary immediately ordered for raid at the medical store. During raid, police seized huge quantity of Cough Syrup and Tablets used by drug addicts. Police also took into custody Wahid alias Dhinku, Hari Om, and Mohd Mikhail in this connection and lodged an FIR against them. Drug Inspectors Pankaj Suman and Jitendra Kumar reached Sadar Police Station to inquire into the matter.

Police also collected Rs 62,100 as fine from owners of 32 Bikes, 8 fou-wheelers, and five autorickshaw for defying lockdown.
