Buxar : Police, on a tip off, seized 2,041 bottles of Indian Made Foreign liquor (IMFL) packed in 49 cartons hidden underground in an area under Industrial police station on March 19, 2019, though no smuggler could be arrested.
SHO, Industrial police station, Dinesh Kumar Malakar said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled into Bihar from Uttar Pradesh through river Ganga near Majharia village and so he along with police force immediately reached there went but was informed there that the IMFL had been kept underground on the other side of the river.
The SHO said that at the direction of Buxar SP Upendra Nath Sharma, who had a talk with his counterpart in Balia in Uttar Pradesh, he went to the other side of the river and after digging some places, police succeeded in seizing 2,041 bottles of IMFL packed in 49 cartons.
