Ara : On the revelation of a Heroin smuggler, Bhojpur police seized Rs 6.5 lakh cash from the basement of a house on Godana road under Nawada police station, Ara, on July 12, 2017, and also arrested one Birendra Kumar. Later, police forwarded him to jail.
Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that police had arrested Sanjay Kumar and his daughter Punam alias Sujata when they had gone to Kayamnagar under Koelwar police station to deliver Heroin to someone. On their revelation, police conducted raids at their rented house on Godana road under Nawada police station on July 3, 2017, and seized 200 gram of Heroin, 5 kg of Paracetamol powder, white powder, booster liquid Acid and Rs 5.5 lakh in cash.
The SP said that Sanjay Kumar of Azamgarh lived in Bhaluhipur locality under Town Police Station, Ara, where he came in contact with a widow Geeta Devi and married her. But she lived along with her son with her first husband, Birendra Kumar, in Zahur Colony near Dharahara locality under Town Police Station. After his arrest, Sanjay Kumar confessed before police during interrogation that his son Birendra Kumar was also involved in his business. On his confession, police on July 12 arrested Birendra Kumar from his house at Zahur Colony and seized Rs 6.5 lakh cash from the basement of a house at Godana road, where Sanjay Kumar had later shifted from Bhaluhipur.
