Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raids at three different places during last 24 hours and seized 412 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Police also arrested four liquor smugglers and forwarded them to jail.

SHO, Bihia police station (PS), Bimlesh Kumar, said that he conducted raids near Babua Brahm on  Bihia-Bahoranpur main road under Bihia police station on August 20, 2017, late evening and seized 390 bottles of IMFL  and arrested two motorcycle borne liquor smugglers while two others managed to escape.

The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Mela Kumar, son of Sadhu Chaudhary, and Sunny Kumar, son of Jitendra Kumar of Thakurbari road under Bihia police station, and forwarded them to jail. The SHO said that the liquor smugglers were to sale the liquor at twice the purchase price. He stated that they had smuggled liquor from Balia in UP via river Ganga river.

Police arrested two other liquor smugglers with seven bottles of IMFL near Ramgarhia locality under Town police station, Ara, on August 21 while one liquor  escaped from the spot. The arrested persons were identified as Suraj Kumar, son of Upendra Kumar, and Jitendra Kumar, son of Anil Kumar of Ramgarhia locality under Town police station, and forwarded them to jail.

The GRP, Ara, on the other hand, seized 15 bottles of IMFL from an AC coach of New Delhi-Rajgir Shramjeevi Express on August 21 morning.
