Police seize 400 ton beef from Muzaffarpur factory, 6 arrested

Muzaffarpur : Police seized 400 ton beef worth Rs 10 crore from a Bela Industrial Area (phase 2) factory in Muzaffarpur district in North Bihar on January 29, 2018. The factory was allegedly supplying beef to Saudi Arabia for the past five years besides some other countries. Police sealed the factory on January 29 night and also arrested six persons in this connection.

Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh and SSP Vivek Kumar also visited the factory and inquired into the matter. An FIR had been lodged against 8 persons in connection with the alleged beef supply abroad. SSP Vivek Kumar has suspended the SHO of police station concerned K N Manjhi.
