Ara : Police seized 12 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs 1 lakh from an SUV near village Baruhi on Nasariganj-Sakaddi main road under Sahar police station (PS) in Bhojpur district on August 4, 2019. Police and also seized the vehicle though the liquor smugglers escaped under the cover of darkness. An RJD flag was allegedly found tagged to the vehicle.
An FIR was lodged by Sahar police station under the Prohibition & Excise Act and police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the liquor smugglers.
SHO, Sahar police station, said that on the direction of Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar an intensive checking of vehicles was going on when the driver of the SUV, seeing police, tried to escape with the vehicle but police chased and intercepted the vehicle near village Baruhi in the wee hour on August 4, 2019, and seized the vehicle with RJD flag. But, the liquor smugglers including the driver escaped under the cover of darkness, the SHO said. Police are also searching for the owner of the vehicle Chandeshwar Kumar of Ara.
