Ara : Police recovered a stolen child from a house at Karman Tola, Ara, in Bhojpur district. Police also arrested a woman Gudia Devi who had allegedly stolen the baby six months ago. An FIR was lodged by Nawada police station in this connection on the statement of the mother of the child Reshmi Devi.
SHO, Nawada PS, quoting the FIR, said that Reshmi Devi of Bandhan Tola under Nawada police station said that she had gone to wash clothes leaving her newborn baby with to her mother on January 13, 2019. Meanwhile, Gudia Devi came to her home and took away the baby with her saying she was going towards Ara railway station to take tea but did not return. All efforts to locate her went in vain.
On July 21, 2019, Gudia Devi was located in Milki Mohalla locality under Ara Town police station in the evening. Immediately the Nawada police was informed about it on Mobile phone. Nawada police rushed to the spot and arrested Gudia Devi. During interrogation, Gudia Devi said that the baby was kept at a house at Karman Tola locality. On her revelation, police recovered the baby from there and handed it over to Reshmi Devi. Police sent Gudia Devi to jail.
