Raxaul (East Champaran) : Rajendra Mahto , a senior leader of Rastriya Janata Party –Nepal, said that Nepal and India should hold a high level meeting with their experts on irrigation and flood control to solve the recurring floods in Tarai of Nepal and in North Bihar in India. Vast areas in Nepal Tarai and Bihar were recently devastated by flood.
Rajendra Mahto , a senior leader of Madhes and Member of Parliamentary State Affairs and Good Governance Committee in Nepal, on July 22, 2019, reviewed and monitored the damages caused by the flood and subsequent problems with the officials in Rautahat district at its headquarters at Gaur and asked them to speed up the relief and rehabilitation work.
Talking to reporters at Gaur, Mahto said flood is a big problem for the poor people of this area and this problem should be solved with India through diplomatic means. Talking about the devastation caused by flood in Rautahat district, Mahto said the Nepal government and provincial government are providing financial supports to the flood victims, according to sources in Rautahat district.
