Sitamarhi: Police on October 12, 2017, night prevented a child marriage and arrested father of both a minor girl and a minor bridegroom at village Kora under Parsauni police station in Sitamarhi district for violating the Child Marriage Act. The boy belongs to village Bhulli. SHO,Parsauni police station, Jai Chandra Singh said that since both bride and groom were minors their fathers were arrested. It may be mentioned here that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on October 2, 2017, launched a statewide drive against child marriage and dowry.
