Patna : A fierce encounter took place between police and naxalites in Bhanekhat forest under Rajauli police station on September 17, 2018, at around 5 am and continued for over 14 hours. The exchange of fire between the two sides continued till 7 pm. Nawada SP while confirming the encounter said that police seized a firearm from the spot. There is no report of any injury from either side in the incident.
An FIR was registered against 12 named and 5 unnamed people in this connection. The names of naxal IED expert Pradhyuman Sharma, Kundan Chaurasia, Ramvinay, and Ravidas figure in the fir. SHO, Rajauli police station, said that the local police were assisted by SP (Operations) and Special Weapon and Tactics (Swat) team of para-military police. Police seized 1 Carbine, one 9 mm bullet and several backpacks from the spot, the SHO added.
