Patna: atna police on November 22 busted a gang of fake currency racketeers by arresting two of its members with fake currencies of Rs 1,000 denomination worth Rs 2.5 lakh from Danapur. The members of the gang were depositing fake currencies of Rs 1,000 denomination into two nationalised banks at Danapur and later used to draw the valid currencies from the two banks. Suspecting foul play, the banks concerned informed police who swung into action and busted the gang. Police are conducting raids to arrest the kingpin of the gang. The gang was bringing the fake currencies from Nepal, said police sources.
