Buxar : Police busted a fake currency printing factory running from a house at village Manoharpur under Rajpur police station in Buxar District in South Bihar on June 16, 2021, late evening, and also arrested five persons in this connection. The arrested persons included Dharmendra Singh, his son, his father Subhash Yadav, and his uncle Ashok Singh.
Police also seized fake currency in 100, 200 and 200 denomination of the face value of Rs 3.12 lakh, printing machine, punching machine, note cutting machine, laptop, papers used for printing notes in large quantity, and half made fake currencies of the fave value of Rs 6,5000 from the spot. Police are interrogating them the five arrested persons.
Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh said that Dharmendra Singh, who posed himself as an armyman of Rajputana Regiment, ran a fake currency making factory from his home at village Manoharpur under Rajpur police station and nearly all his all family members were involved in it. He started the illegal business after he returned from Hyderabad during lockdown.
The SP said that Dharmendra Singh is not an armyman but he ran a security agency from Hyderabad with its branch in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. He got information about printing of fake currency at Hyderabad and during lockdown when his business was virtually closed, he came back to his native village Manoharpur and established a factory and started printing fake currency from there. He printed fake currencies of 100, 200 and 500 denominations and possessed printing and punching machines and other equipment needed for the purposes.
SP Singh said that after printing fake currency, Dharmendra Singh along with his family members had gone to the local market to circulate them in the market when police got information about it. Police had also received several written complaints from some people regarding Dharmendra’s activities. Police started keeping a close watch Dharmendra Singh and others and also on their activities.
A police team conducted raid in the house of Dharmendra Singh and arrested Dharmendra Singh, his father Subhash Yadav, and his uncle Ashok Singh. Police also seized printing, punching and note cutting machines, papers used in note printing in large quantity, 3.12 lakh fake notes and 65000 half made fake notes of 500 denomination.
The SP further said that Dharmendra Singh confessed that during lockdown when he returned to his village and started the business and said that he had never done the illegal work earlier though the police did not believe him and are trying to know details of his network. Police are also trying to know as to where the fake currencies were supplied to and about the agents.
