Saharsa : Police on May 12, 2014, arrested two persons including a bike snatcher Chandan Sah from two different places in connection with loot of bike and mobile phone from Varun Sharma, a resident of village Majhwan under Balwahaat police outpost on May 5, 2017. Police, on through mobile tracking, arrested Chandan Sah from village Kahra under Sadar police station, Saharsa, and seized the looted cellphone from his possession, said Incharge Balwahaat OP Suman Kumar.
Chandan Sah admitted his involvement in bike and cellphone loot and revealed he had sold the bike to one Rajbali Yadav, a native of village Bahurwa under Kusheshwarsthan PS in Darbhanga district at Rs 5,000. Police conducted raid at the house of Bahurwa native Nagendra Yadav and recovered the looted bike and took Rajbali Yadav under their custody and brought him over to Saharsa. Chandan also disclosed the name of his other accomplices.
Simribakhtiarpur police station SI Anil Kumar, on the other hand, recovered a bike lying abandoned on the roadside near Baba Raghuni Halt in Saharsa district on May 11. SI Kumar said that the criminals dumped the looted bike there due to the fear of police who were conducting raids to arrest the associates of criminal Sanjit Kumar Sharma. Sanjit was arrested recently from village Korlahi in Saharsa district.
