Ara : Bhojpur police on November 30, 2017, arrested Janeshwar Singh and his wife Sushila Devi of Kodhawa village under Jagdishpur police station in connection with the murder of their daughter-in-law (bahu) Babita Kumari three year ago and sent them to jail.

SHO, Jagdishpur police station, Baijnath Chaudhary said that Babita Kumari, daughter of Dinesh Kumar of village Baddhara under Ayar police station, was married to Arun Singh, son of Janeshwar Singh of Kodhawa village under Jagdishpur police station in 2014. But, her in-laws always tortured her for more dowry and when their demands were not fulfilled, they allegedly killed Babita Kumari the same year. A named FIR was lodged with Jagdishpur police station but Babita’s in-laws were absconding. After their arrest on November 30,  police produced them before the court and later they were sent to jail under judicial custody.
