Aurangabad:  Police arrested six naxalites on Saturday under Madanpur police station in connection with attack on a solar power project at village Bakshbigha under Kasma Police Station in Aurangabad district 17 days back.

Aurangabad SP Babu Ram had contituted separate teams to arrest the naxals. On a tip off, District Armed Police (DAP) with the help of STF and CRPF conducted raids at suspected hideouts of naxalites and nabbed six of them, two of them  wanted in connection with attack on a construction company, MVL, camp under Goh police station in which two policemen were killed and 30  sophisticated police weapons were looted.

SP Babu Ram said that in the wake of continued raids, police got major breakthrough against naxals. He said that the arrested naxalites had attacked solar power project when the company engaged in its construction refused to pay levy to them.The SP said that arrested naxalites had been identified as Veera Das, Awadhesh Thakur, Akhilesh Yadav, Ramashray Yadav, Mathura Yadav and Bhuvaneshwar Bhuiyan. Veera and Awadhesh were wanted in connection with attack on MVL camp too. Police will continue to conduct raids against naxalites based on revelations made by arrested naxals, SP Ram said.
