Police arrest miscreant extorting money from truck drivers under Sandesh PS in Bhojpur

Ara : Police arrested a miscreant red handed near Repura Petrol Pump on Nasariganj-Sakaddi NH-81 under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur District on March 18, 2020, late evening, while extorting cash from trucks brandishing a fake pistol.

A named FIR has been lodged by Sandesh police station in this connection and police sent the arrested miscreant to jail after interrogation. The miscreant was identified as Vinktesh Singh of village Repura.

SHO, Sandesh police station, Sudeh Kumar, said that a police team was on patrol duty on Nasariganj-Sakadi NH-81 on March 18 late  evening when they saw that Vinkatesh Singh and his aide were extorting money from truck drivers near Repura petrol pump at pistol point. Seeing police both the persons tried to escape but police chased and arrested Vinktesh Singh though his aide Chandan Singh of Repura village managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The SHO said that police also recovered Rs.2,280 cash and a fake pistol from his possession.
