Ara : Government Railway Police (GRP), Ara, recovered about 120 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a bogie of Akaltakht Express train at platform No 1 at Ara railway station under Danapur Division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, on March 19, 2020, though the liquor smugglers escaped from the scene.
An FIR was lodged with GRP, Ara, under the Prohibition & Excise Act in this connection. SHO, GRP, Ara, said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled using 12318 Amritsar-Kolkata Akaltakht Superfast Express train. As the train reached Ara railway station, police launched intensive checking drive and during checking, they seized three unclaimed bags lying under a seat. When they were opened, police found about 120 bottles of IMF in three bags though the liquor smugglers escaped.
