Patna : One of the key accused of over Rs 15 crore toilet construction scam in Patna district Bitteshar Prasad Singh, a Cashier at the office of Executive Engineer (EE), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Patna, was arrested on November 16, 2017, early morning, from Telengana state in South India, by the SIT of Patna police. He is being brought over to Patna. With it, police have so far arrested 10 persons in connection with this scam.
Bittehwar was absconding ever since Patna police on November 2, 2017, lodged an FIR in connection with the scam following direction from Patna DM. He was arrested on the basis of his mobile surveillance. But, PHED, Executive Engineer, Vinay Kumar Sinha, allegedly the kingpin of scam, is yet to be arrested though the SIT is in his hot pursuit. Police had on November 15 arrested five persons including the Chairperson of a Bakhtiarpur, Patna, based NGO Bobby Kumari.
