Police arrest Ganja peddler, seize 800 gm Ganja

Patna: A Patna Police team arrested a ganja peddler Bauna Paswan from a hutment near Nutan Vihar Apartment under Kankerbagh police station. Police also recovered two bottles of IMFL from the possession of the arrested person, said Patna Senior SP (SSP) Mannu Maharaaj here on January 27.

The SSP had received inputs on January 26 evening that ganja was being sold in a hutment near Nutan  Vihar  Apartment after which he directed Kankerbagh ps SHO to carry out raid at the place. A police team reached there  and arrested Paswan and recovered 800 gm Ganja from his possession. During interrogation, Paswan revealed that one of his acquaintances supplies liquor to the people. A police team later reached the spot disclosed by him and recovered two bottles of IMFL from there.

The SSP said that during interrogation, the arrested person told police that he was in this trade for the past several years. He said that the Paswan told the police that he used to procure ganja from Tripura and supplied the consignment to Patna, Ara and Jehanabad through agents. SSP said that Paswan told cops that since the state government has banned sale of liquor, sale of ganja has increased manifold.
