Police arrest Ara Remand Home escapee

Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raids in Shivganj locality under Town police station, Ara,  on February 9, 2018, and arrested a fugitive of Remand Home Jitendra Chaudhary alias Mithai Chaudhary. Police also seized a loaded countrymade pistol from his possession.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that Jitendra Chaudhary alias Mithai Chaudhary, son of Krishna Chaudhary of Anand Nagar locality under Town police station, was arrested in connection with murder of owner of a mobile shop Vicky alias Mukesh on June 5, 2015, in Shivganj locality under Town police station and police had arrested him on June 15, 2015, from Bahoranpur locality and was loged at Remand Home at Dhanupura, Ara, under Town police station.

Jitendra Chaudhary escaped from Remand Home after breaking the floor of a prisoners’ van along with his three associates on July 12, 2017, when he and other 10 inmates of Ara Remand Home were being taken to the Juvenile Court for production. On the campus of the Juvenile Court, four inmates of Ara Remand Home Jitendra Chaudhary alias Mithai Chaudhary, Rohit Kumar, Veer Pratap alias Raushan, and Shiv Shankar Singh cut the iron sheet of the flour of the prisoners’ van and escaped. Though the family members of three inmates caught and handed them over to police, Jitendra Chaudhary was absconding for the last six months.

The SP said that Jitendra Chaudhary had a criminal background and was involved in three criminal cases besides the murder of Vikky.
