Police arrest 4 criminals with firearms, 2 bikes from Bhojpur village

Ara : Bhojpur police arrested four criminals including the gang leader with firearms from village Sikarhatta under the same police station at about 11pm on November 28, 2018, while two of their accomplices : Golu Kumar and Pappu Kumar, escaped under the cover of darkness.

The arrested criminals were identified as Rahul Singh, son of Aniruddh Singh, Munnu alias Sampat Kumar, son of Vrindavan Singh, Kundan Kumar, son of Bhola Singh of Chanda village under Sikarhatta police station, and Om Prakash Rai, son of Shiv Kumar Rai of Sikarhatta village.

Police also seized a countrymade gun, a country made pistol, three live cartridge, eight blank cartridges and two motorcycles from their possession. Police sent them to jail after interrogation. A named FIR was lodged with Sikarhatta police station against six persons in this connection.

Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar said that he got information that some criminals were hatching plan at Sikarhatta village to commit crime somewhere. He immediately formed a police team headed by Piro DSP Reshu Krishna that conducted raids at Sikarhatta village and cordoned off the house of Om Prakash Rai and called him out of  the house saying that they had come from Sikarhatta police station. But, the criminals started firing on police force from inside the house and also tried to escape firing in the air, the SP said and added that police caught four of the six criminals who had taken shelter at the house including the house owner Om Prakash Rai.

The SP further said that Rahul Singh, mastermind of the gang, had criminal background and a number of criminal cases are pending against him with Sikarhatta and Charpokhari police stations.
