Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at village Pawar under Pawana police station in Bhojpur district on September 8, 2018, and arrested three inter-state arms smugglers with firearms. Police seized one .315 gun, a double barrel gun of 12 caliber, 10 live cartridges of 7.62 mm caliber, 2 live cartridges  of 8mm caliber and 14 live cartridges of 12 mm caliber of AK 47.

The arrested arms suppliers were identified as Vinit Singh and his father Ashok Singh, son of Harihar Singh, and Sunil Singh, son of Chhathu Singh of village Pawar. ASP (Operations) Nitin Kumar and SDPO, Pankaj Kumar,  said that Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar, on information, formed a police team under their leadership on September 8 and it conducted raids at the house of Vinit Singh at village Pawar and arrested him and his father Ashok Singh and   police also seized one gun, 10 live cartridges of 7.62mm caliber of A K 47 and 2 live cartridges of 8mm caliber from his residence. On Vinit’s revelation, police also conducted raids at the house of Sunil Singh and arrested him with one double barrel gun and 14 live cartridges of 12 mm caliber.

The two police officials said that police have seized live cartridges of AK 47 but the gun could not be seized. They said  police are interrogating the arrested arms smugglers to know from where they got the arms and where they had to deliver the same. Police are trying to know whether they also possessed AK 47, they said.

The ASP and SDPO said that the SP has directed to continue raids at different places and arrest the liquor and arms smugglers.
