Police arrest 21 persons for attacking cops at Bhojpur village

Ara : Bhojpur police on May 15, 2018, arrested 21 of 23 named miscreants in connection with attack on police force at village Nargada under Karnamepur Police Outpost in which four police personnel were injured.

Bhojpur police, on a tip off, had gone to Nargada village under Karnamepur police outpost on May 12, 2018, night, to arrest a named accused in a murder case who had come there to attend a marriage ceremony. The criminal, seeing police force, fled away from the scene but the villagers pelted cops with stones and also made some of them captive. They villagers also thrashed police personnel in which four police personnel were injured. The villagers also made an abortive bid to snatch their firearms. Police had lodged FIR against 23 named and several unnamed persons for attacking police personnel on duty.

SHO, Karnamepur Police Outpost, Kumar Ravindra said that police arrested 21 out of 23 named accused but the main accused is still at large and added police were searching for him.
