Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in large quantity and an Innova car near Singhahi -Gangi locality under Ara Town police station on March 27, 2019, and arrested two liquor smugglers : Dheeraj Kumar Singh of village Karisath under Udwantnagar police in Bhojpur district, and Dinesh Singh of Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh, though the kingpin of the liquor smugglers’ gang Aman Kumar Singh of Karisath escaped from the place.
Ara Town police station lodged an FIR under the Prohibition & Excise Act in this connection and are conducting raids to arrest the gang leader Aman Kumar Singh..
SHO, Ara Town police station said that he got information that IMFL is being smuggled in large quantity from New Delhi to Ara. He immediately launched vehicle checking drive near Singhahi-Gangi locality and intercepted an Innova car and when the vehicle was searched, 286 bottles of IMFL were recovered.
SDPO, Ara, Pankaj Kumar said that during interrogation, the arrested liquor smugglers confessed that they had earlier smuggled IMFL from Haryana to Bhojpur district and delivered it door to door on demand. They also revealed that they took order on mobile and Aman Kumar Singh supplied liquor door to door but they did not reveal the areas where they supplied the IMFL.
