Ara : Station House Officer (SHO), Sahar police station in Bhojpur district, Sanjay Kumar, on August 18, 2018, evening, lodged an FIR against 29 named persons including Ranjan Yadav, Doma Yadav, Ravi Ranjan Yadav, Laxman Yadav, Chulhan Yadav, Amarjeet Yadav, Dhananjay Yadav,  Arun Yadav and 50 unnamed persons in connection with attack on a police team and also firing on it injuring police personnel at Bajaria Milki Tola under the police station on August 17 evening.

Another named FIR was lodged with Sahar police station against Bir Bahadur, son of Raja Ram, and Jalandahr, son of Naga Singh of Bajaria Milki Tola, in connection with murder of Lal Bahadur Yadav, 23, on the statement of his father Bhukhan Yadav, a Chowkidar. Police have arrested 16 persons including Chowkidar Bhukhan Yadav and sent them to jail so far.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that Lal Bahadur Yadav and Bir Bahadur had taken liquor and later quarreled over a minor issue. During the quarrel, Bir Bahadur allegedly shot Lal Bahadur dead on August 17 night near Katahi bridge at village Bajaria under Sahar police station. After the incident, the angry villagers attacked Bir Bahadur’s house and set his house, motorcycle and tractor abaze.

The SP said when a police team went there to recover the body, the villagers also attacked the police force and fired on them in which SHO, Sahar police station, Sanjay Kumar received a bullet injury in the arm and was admitted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) but the doctor referred him to Sadar Hospital, Ara, where the doctor operated upon him and took out the bullet from his arm. The SP said police had to open fire in self-defence and also to disperse the mob. He said that situation is tense but under control and police force are still camping there.
