Patna: A flash strike called by the junior doctors of Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) was called off on November 17 evening following  intervention of the hospital superintendent. The junior doctors had gone on strike on November 16 in  protest against action of Patna medical college principal Dr S N Sinha who had allegedly assaulted a junior doctor who had entered no parking zone with his motorcycle.
The Principal filed an FIR against a junior doctor alleging he had assaulted him (principal). Prem Kumar, Leader of opposition in Bihar assembly, demanded action against the principal who allegedly assaulted junior doctor Alok  Kumar without any provocation.

Ten patients died due to the strike of junior doctors .Over 200 patients shifted out of the hospital due to shortage of
doctors. Hospital management had requisitioned services of doctors from the civil surgeon office.
