New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 23, 2018, condoled the passing away of veteran journalist and former Rajya Sabha member, Kuldip Nayar. Kuldip Nayar, 95, a former High Commissioner to Britain, died at a Delhi hospital in the wee hours on August 23.

“Kuldip Nayar was an intellectual giant of our times. Frank and fearless in his views, his work spanned across many decades. His strong stand against the Emergency, public service and commitment to a better India will always be remembered. Saddened by his demise. My condolences,” the Prime Minister said, according to a PIB release.
